Dr Trayaurus

Dr. Trayaurus (or simply Trayaurus) is a scientist villager who is one of DanTDM's most popular characters. Although he is quite naïve, he is brilliant and is very good at doing experiments. They do sometimes go wrong though.

Shortly after DanTDM moved from his first house to his new house, Dr. Trayaurus attempted to catch his attention by performing loud experiments at night along with a pet Ender Dragon. This was successful at getting DanTDM to notice Dr. Trayaurus contemplating his loneliness and wishing DanTDM would do experiments with him as he needs a helping hand.

The day later, Dan was able to enter Dr. Trayaurus' lab and help him with an experiment, and he later became the latter's lab partner and best friend.

First Appearance

Trayaurus was first introduced on May 18, 2013, in a Minecraft Mod Showcase video called the "Carboniferous Mod". Dr. Trayaurus was depicted as a silent villager in his first appearances, in which he randomly changed outfits because of the Minecraft version where he was created. Villagers originally had no sounds when he first appeared, so he was silent and cannot speak. Dr. Trayaurus died in the first video he appeared in, but was revived later on.

Family

He lives with Dan and Grim in the Lab. He has a mother that was kidnapped by a witch and turned into one. He then met her in the episode 'Trayaurus and the Witch' and after a series of events, found out it was her. In TRAYAURUS GETS OLD | Minecraft, they go to her to make him young again after eating a trick apple. The most recent episodes of her was in the Custom Mod Adventure 'Wizard Training School' where Tray's mum is happy to teach them wizardry. It is also possible that Dr. Trayaurus is related to the Companion in some way.

When Dr. Trayaurus was a sim (possibly still as a villager) he married Bristol Milam, the sister of Isaac Milam. They only met up after Dr. Trayaurus ditched Genesis Lu, his date, at a bar, Bristol being the barmaid. Together they had three children, Herbert (first appeared in HERE COMES THE BABY!! | The Sims 4 Gameplay #7), and Ralph and Amira, who were twins (first appeared in TWINS?!?! | The Sims 4 Gameplay #10). Ralph died of embarrassment in the video "The Sims 4 | SOMEONE DIES OF EMBARRASSMENT?! | Get To Work #2" and Herbert and Amira last appeared in the video "The Sims 4 | LET'S GO CAMPING!! | Get To Work / Outdoor Retreat #11" released on 27 June, 2015.

Disappearance

As the years go on, Trayaurus slowly began to no longer appear in Dan's videos. He eventually disappeared all together in 2021. On June 7, while playing Shady Oaks SMP in Minecraft, Dan made a cardboard cutout of Trayaurus. The former reveals that the reason why Trayaurus doesn't appear anymore is because his villager model no longer exists in Minecraft, though Dan earlier stated that the character was killed off by Mojang after he angered some employees there.

Return

On July 16, 2022, Dr. Trayaurus makes a surprise comeback in the video This Minecraft Villager has 10 BILLION Views. Dan reveals that the character, ever since he was created, had received 10 billion views. As Dan continues to bring Trayaurus back every time he dies in his early appearances, this made many people love the villager character. Since he owed a lot to Trayaurus, Dan reveals that he had commissioned someone to have him remade so that he and Trayaurus may continue to mess around with more custom mods. Of the dialogue that appeared whenever the latter would talk, Dan reveals that he had translated Trayaurus' mumblings so that people may understand him, but as he was remade he would now give a random response when interacted with.

Unlike his previous appearances in Minecraft in which he is shown to mostly follow Dan while on adventures and would usually not stare a lot, he now acts more on his accord, not following Dan a lot and scarcely speaking. According to Dan, this is because his brain has evolved past the need to do those aforementioned traits. In addition, Trayaurus would now stand still and now stare a lot at times. Furthermore, his personality has changed as he became more grumpier in nature.
